Fitzgerald was Vice President for Academic Affairs at Northeastern University, a post to which he was appointed after serving first as Professor and Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department, followed by being named Dean of Faculty. Prior to his time at Northeastern University, Professor Fitzgerald spent more than 20 years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts, from which he received the S.M. and Sc.D., and where he rose to the rank of Professor of Electrical Engineering. Besides Electric Machinery, Professor Fitzgerald was one of the authors of Basic Electrical Engineering, also published by McGraw-Hill. Throughout his career, Professor Fitzgerald was at the forefront in the field of long-range power system planning, working as a consulting engineer in industry both before and after his academic career. Annie Elizabeth "Bessie" Delany was an American dentist and civil rights pioneer. Delany was born in Lynch's Station, Virginia, the third eldest of ten children born to the Rev. Henry Beard Delany (who was born into slavery), the first black person elected Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States, and Nanny Logan Delany, an educator. Bessie was raised on the campus of St. Augustine's School (now University) in Raleigh, North Carolina, where her father was the vice principal and her mother, a teacher and administrator. Delany was a 1911 graduate of the school. In 1918, she followed her sister to New York City. She enrolled at Columbia University, from which she earned her dental degree in 1923. Of 170 students in her graduating class, she was the only black woman, and she was the second black woman licensed to practice dentistry in New York state. She shared a dental office in Harlem with her brother, Dr. H. B. Delany Jr. In 1991, Delany and her sister Sadie were interviewed by journalist Amy Hill Hearth, who wrote a feature story about them for The New York Times titled Two 'Maiden Ladies' With Century-Old Stories to Tell. A New York book publisher read Hearth's newspaper story and asked her to write a full-length book on the sisters. Hearth and the sisters worked closely for two years to create the book, an oral history called Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years, which dealt with the trials and tribulations the sisters had faced during their life. The book spawned a Broadway play in 1995 and a television film in 1999. In 1994, the sisters and Hearth published The Delany Sisters' Book of Everyday Wisdom, a follow-up to Having Our Say. Alfred Elton van Vogt was born on a farm in Edenburg, a Russian Mennonite community east of Gretna, Manitoba. Early in his career he wrote for true confession pulp magazines like True Story, but in the late 1930s he began writing science fiction, which he was more interested in. His first published SF story, "Black Destroyer" was published in 1939, and is considered to be one of the first works of the Golden Age of science fiction. In 1941 he left his job at the Department of National Defence to become a full-time writer, and he went on to write a large number of short stories. In 1944 he moved to Hollywood, California. In the 1950s he briefly became involved in L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics projects. Although he left Dianetics, he claimed that Hubbard's followers continued to harass him, and he stopped writing for a few years. In the 1960s Frederik Pohl convinced him to start writing again, and he wrote novels (as opposed to short stories that were later developed into novels) until his death in 2000.

Agam Anand graduated in accounts from Patna and did his Masters from Kolkata but he is more interested in literature, writing, movies, and sports. After working for more than a year his creative spark made him quit his job to be an author and write stories. In 2020, he formed Anaisha Motion Pictures along with his sister Richa Singh, an independent production House to make Web films and Web series'. His maiden project 'Woh Khaas' is probably the 1st dual audio short film to be made from India.

Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born in Torquay, Devon, in the United Kingdom, the daughter of a wealthy American stockbroker. Her father died when she was eleven years old. Her mother taught her at home, encouraging her to write at a very young age. At the age of 16, she went to Mrs. Dryden's finishing school in Paris to study singing and piano. In 1914, at age 24, she married Colonel Archibald Christie, an aviator in the Royal Flying Corps. While he went away to war, she worked as a nurse and wrote her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles (1920), which wasn't published until four years later. When her husband came back from the war, they had a daughter. In 1928 she divorced her husband, who had been having an affair. In 1930, she married Sir Max Mallowan, an archaeologist and a Catholic. She was happy in the early years of her second marriage, and did not divorce her husband despite his many affairs. She travelled with her husband's job, and set several of her novels set in the Middle East. Most of her other novels were set in a fictionalized Devon, where she was born. Agatha Christie is credited with developing the "cozy style" of mystery, which became popular in, and ultimately defined, the Golden Age of fiction in England in the 1920s and '30s, an age of which she is considered to have been Queen. In all, she wrote over 66 novels, numerous short stories and screenplays, and a series of romantic novels using the pen name Mary Westmacott. She was the single most popular mystery writer of all time. In 1971 she was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
