Well, where should I start? I've lived in San Francisco for more than a decade, usually with at least one cat. I won the school spelling bee when I was in 7th grade; the word that clinched it was 'ukulele.' I originally set out to be a rock star when I grew up (I had a Bono fixation, but who didn't?), and I have the guitars and the questionable wardrobe stuffed in the back of my closet to prove it. But writing was always my first love.

Julie Beard

Julie Beard is a former journalist who brings her reporting skills to her award-winning, bestselling novels. Imagine investigating weapons of the Middle Ages, or the importance of reputations in the Victorian era, as she did when writing Midnight Angel (Berkley Sensation, December 2003). Julie has been hailed for her ability to magically recreate the distant past. Now she's busy "world building" in the future. Julie was one of the launch authors for the Silhouette Bombshell series, a new line of romantic action/adventure novels. She debuted with Kiss of the Blue Dragon (August 2004) featuring 28-year-old Angel Baker, a certified retribution specialist who strives to see justice done in the year 2104. Julie was a reporter and a news writer before turning her writing skills to more creative venues. She worked as the night beat for KSDK-TV, covering everything from murders to visiting politicians to hometown parades. As a news writer at the Fox affiliate in Chicago, she wrote copy for the legendary news anchor Walter Jacobson and Robin Robinson. Julie also has given dozens of workshops and lectures around the country at community colleges, bookstores and writers conferences. She's conducted seminars and written articles about editing, writing, promotions and journalism. She wrote the popular "how-to" book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Getting Your Romance Published. This comprehensive nonfiction title offers advice on everything from plotting and editing a novel to finding an agent and publisher. Julie graduated from Northwestern University's prestigious Medill School of Journalism with a master of science degree in journalism. She graduated with a B.F.A. in theatre arts from Stephens College. She lives with her husband, two children and two incorrigible basenjis in the Midwest.

Julie Campbell

Julie Campbell was born on 1June 1908 in Flushing, New York, USA. She was the daugther of Julia deFres (Sample) and Archibald Campbell, an Army Officer. She travelled widely during her childhood and, at the age of eight, won her first short story contest while living in Hawaii. On 30 march 1933, she married Charles Tatham Jr. The marriage worked together on many magazine stories and articles. She had her own literary agency in the 1940s when Western Publishing invited literary agents to find authors who could produce mystery and adventure books that would be marketed to children at an affordable price. Campbell proposed four series, two that would be written by herself and the others by two of her authors Hal Burton and John Henry Cutler. Both series were published under her maiden name, Julie Campbell. The Ginny Gordon series consisted of five books published between 1948 and 1956, while her contribution to the Trixie Belden series consisted of six books between 1948 and 1958. At the same time, Campbell stepped in to take over the Cherry Ames and Vicki Barr series and wrote twelve books in total for these series over the same time period. It is believed that Campbell wrote Cherry Ames, Cruise Nurse in three weeks during the same period she was also writing the first Trixie Belden and Ginny Gordon books. As widow, Julie Tatham was living in an apartment building called Hunting Towers in Alexandria, when she passed away on 7 July 1999 at the age of 91.

Julie Cohen

Julie Cohen was born in the U.S.A. and brought up in the mountains of western Maine. There wasn't much going on in Maine, so she made stuff up. She spent most of her childhood with her nose in a book and wrote her first novel at age eleven, a fantasy story about a female teenage wizard. In high school, she and her best friend wrote wildly improbable romances about their favourite rock stars. At university she wrote newspaper features and a weekly cartoon strip about an Elvis look-alike with a pet squid. She spent a year studying at Cambridge University in England, and fell in love with the country and the sexy accents. After attaining her first degree in English literature, she moved to England and researched fairies in children's literature for a postgraduate degree. She started writing funny, sexy stories in her spare time. She started writing her first Harlequin romance on a blueberry farm in Maine, and finished it on a beach in Greece. This one, and several others, collected rejection letters. Shortly after placing in the finals in the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart contest, she sold to Harlequin Mills & Boon. Julie lives in the south of England with her husband and her son, and still reads everything in sight. Her other hobbies include walking, travelling, listening to loud music, watching films and eating far too much popcorn. She is teased daily about her American accent.
