Lawrence "Larry" Lessig is an American academic and political activist. He is best known as a proponent of reduced legal restrictions on copyright, trademark, and radio frequency spectrum, particularly in technology applications. He is a director of the Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics at Harvard University and a professor of law at Harvard Law School. Prior to rejoining Harvard, he was a professor of law at Stanford Law School and founder of its Center for Internet and Society. Lessig is a founding board member of Creative Commons, a board member of the Software Freedom Law Center and a former board member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Leslie Charteris
Leslie Charteris was born Leslie Charles Bowyer-Yin in Singapore, the son of a Chinese physician father and an English mother. He started writing in childhood, creating his own magazine with articles, short stories, poetry, editorials, serials, comic strip. In 1926, he legally changed his last name to Charteris. He wrote his first book, X Esquire (1927), as an undergraduate at King's College, Cambridge. When it was accepted for publication, he left university to became a professional writer. He continued to write thrillers while supporting himself by working odd jobs, including as laborer on a freighter, bartender in a country inn, gold prospector, pearl fisher, tin miner, laborer on a rubber plantation, carnival hand, and bus driver. He was most famous for his series of books featuring detective Simon Templar, known as The Saint. Charteris moved to the United States in 1932 and started writing screenplays for Paramount Pictures in addition to his other fiction. In the 1940s he also wrote for the Sherlock Holmes radio series. In 1952 he married Hollywood actress Audrey Long. In 1961, Charteris sold the television rights to The Saint series to ITC and a successful television show was produced starring Roger Moore. Initially the episodes were based on Charteris' stories, but later original scripts were commissioned from other authors. These scripts were novelised and published under Charteris' name but were in fact written by others. Charteris stopped writing the Saint books after The Saint in the Sun (1963), although he did collaborate on several in the 1970s. The series went on to total nearly 100 books. Charteris appears to have been an editor for the Saint books after he stopped writing them, and he also edited and wrote for The Saint Mystery Magazine. Leslie Charteris died at Windsor, Berkshire.

Louise Munro Foley (born October 22, 1933) is a Canadian writer who later moved to the United States. She was born as Louise Munro in Toronto; her last name was adopted in 1957 when she married Donald Foley. In the 1960s she worked as a copy editor for a number of radio stations and department stores before taking courses at California State University in Sacramento. Whilst doing this, she wrote her first book, "The Caper Club" and it was published in 1969. Foley also wrote a number of articles for Writer's Digest and the Christian Science Monitor during this period, besides hosting a number of radio programmes. After she finished her degree at California State University in 1976, Foley divorced and turned to full-time writing, firstly for the Twistaplot series and from 1983, for Choose Your Own Adventure. Foley was only the fourth author after Edward Packard, R.A. Montgomery and Richard Brightfield to permanently establish herself within the Choose Your Own Adventure series. Her last book for Choose Your Own Adventure, Ghost Train was written in 1991. Since that time, Foley has moved to young-adult fiction, writing a number of books about intelligent cats. Foley is currently an instructor at the Institute of Children's Literature in West Redding, Connecticut. source

Marcus du Sautoy is the Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science at the Oxford University, a chair he holds jointly at the Department of Continuing Education and the Mathematical Institute. Margaret Hodges
Sarah Margaret "Peggy" Hodges née Moore (July 26, 1911 – December 13, 2005) was an American writer of children's books, librarian, and storyteller. Sarah Margaret Moore was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Arthur Carlisle Moore and Annie Marie Moore. She enrolled at Tudor Hall, a college preparatory school for girls. A 1932 graduate of Vassar College, she arrived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband Fletcher Hodges Jr. when in 1937 he became curator at the Stephen Foster Memorial. She trained as a librarian at Carnegie Institute of Technology. Beginning in 1958 with One Little Drum, she wrote more than 40 published books. She also wrote the book John F. Kennedy Voice of Hope. She was a professor of library science at the University of Pittsburgh, where she retired in 1976. Hodges died of heart disease December 13, 2005, at her home in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. She suffered from Parkinson's disease. She wrote her stories on a notepad or a typewriter. "I need good ideas, and they don't come out of machines", she once said.

Margaret L. (Marge) Lial, born in Sacramento, California, was a dedicated teacher and accomplished college math textbook author. Marge was a Sac High Grad (Class of '45) and remained an active member of the Sac High reunion committee. She attended Sacramento City College, then UC Berkeley before leaving school to marry McClatchy grad Ed Lial. Marge loved to travel, especially to archaeological digs, and visited four continents and countless countries over the course of her life. Marge enjoyed and supported the arts, the Sacramento Kings, a Campus Commons wine group, and developed many wonderful friendships in everything she did. Marge's passion for math started by the first grade. She earned a Masters in Mathematics Education at Sacramento State College while raising three young children. After graduating, Marge became a teacher so she could be in school forever. She started teaching at the high school level, but soon took a job at American River College in Sacramento, California, where she taught for 25 years. Early in her career, a colleague asked her to co-author a math textbook. She went on to publish over thirty textbooks, becoming a leading academic author and savvy businesswoman. The Lial series became the gold standard in Math education. She was active in the field and developed many lifelong friendships. She was mentor to many, especially young women math writers.
