She was raised in the Welsh Border country, and later in her life she lived in London, though she often returned to the Wye Valley and the Black Mountains. Elliot Aronson
Elliot Aronson is a social psychologist and Professor Emeritus at the University of California at Santa Cruz and Distinguished Visiting Professor at Stanford University. He has previously taught at Harvard, the University of Texas and the University of Minnesota. As a researcher, he is best known for his groundbreaking research on social influence and persuasion as well as for the invention of the jigsaw classroom (a strategy for reducing prejudice in public schools). He has written 22 books including The Social Animal, Age of Propaganda (with Anthony Pratkanis), Nobody Left to Hate, The Adventures of Ruthie and a Little Boy Named Grandpa (with his 7-year-oldgranddaughter, Ruth Aronson, and Mistakes Were Made But Not By Me (with Carol Tavris). Aronson is the only person in the 120-year history of the American Psychological Association to have received all three of its highest awards: For Distinguished Research, Distinguished Teaching, and Distinguished Writing. In 1981, he was named Professor of the Year by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. Among his other awards are the Gordon Allport prize for his contributions to inter-racial harmony and the William James Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Psychological Science (2007). Recently, his peers named him as one of the 100 most influential psychologists of the 20th Century. Berta Hoerner Hader (August 1, 1890 – February 6, 1976) and Elmer Stanley Hader (September 7, 1889 – September 7, 1973) were an American couple who jointly illustrated more than 70 children's books, about half of which they also wrote. They won the annual Caldecott Medal for The Big Snow (1948), recognizing the year's "most distinguished American picture book for children". They received the Caldecott Honor Book Award for Cock-a-doodle-doo in 1940 and The Mighty Hunter in 1944.

In the fall of 1980, E. Michael Jones was an assistant professor of American Literature at St. Mary’s College. After receiving his Ph.D. from Temple University in 1979, Jones had moved his wife and two children to South Bend, Indiana to begin what he thought was going to be a career in academic life. But God had other plans. One year into the six years of his tenure track position, Jones got fired because of his position on abortion. Getting fired for being against abortion at what called itself a Catholic college was something his professors at Temple found difficult to understand. Taking his cue from their incomprehension, Jones decided to abandon academe and start a magazine instead. Initially known as Fidelity and now as Culture Wars, that magazine set out to explore the disarray in the Catholic Church that led to his firing. Over the course of the next few years, Jones and a host of like-minded writers began to uncover the sad story of the subversion of the Catholic faith at the hands of fellow Catholics in the years following the Second Vatican Council. In an article which has since become a classic, William Coulson described how Carl Rogers used sensitivity training to destroy the Immaculate Heart nuns in Los Angeles. Jones documented Rev. Theodore Hesburgh’s alienation of Notre Dame from the Catholic faith and Hesburgh’s collaboration with the Rockefellers to undermine Church teaching on contraception which led to that theft of Church property. Jones’s expose of Medjugorje in 1988 caused massive shock waves and equally massive defections from the subscriber base. Then in the early ‘90s Jones was appointed the biographer of John Cardinal Krol, then archbishop emeritus of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where Jones had grown up. After years of archival research, Jones told the real story of what happened to the Catholic Church in America during the 1960s with the publication of John Cardinal Krol and the Cultural Revolution. What previously looked like a civil war in the Church turned out to be a lot like Bismarck’s Kulturkampf of the 1870s in Germany. The similarities persuaded Jones to change the name of the magazine in the mid-1990s to Culture Wars, his translation of Kulturkampf. Since that time Culture Wars has become the world’s main resource in understanding how cultural warfare has advanced the interests of the American Empire and its systems of political control. In 2015 Fidelity Press published David Wemhoff’s book John Courtney Murray, Time/Life, and the American Proposition, which explains how Murray collaborated with Henry Luce, head of the Time/Life Empire, and C.D. Jackson of the CIA to infiltrate the Second Vatican Council and changes the Church’s teaching on the relationship between Church and State. Jones’s book Libido Dominandi: Sexual Liberation and Political Control in collaboration with the Polish Bishops’ pastoral led to the complete rout of what the bishops called “gender ideology” in Poland. In the past year, Jones has spoken on this and related topics in the United States, London, Berlin, Dar es Salaam, Musoma, Tehran, and Buenos Aires. Jones’s trip to Tanzania led to the newly released book The Broken Pump in Tanzania: Julius Nyerere and the Collapse of Development Economics.

Emma Goldman (June 27 [O.S. June 15], 1869 – May 14, 1940) was an anarchist political activist and writer. She played a pivotal role in the development of anarchist political philosophy in North America and Europe in the first half of the 20th century. Born in Kovno, Russian Empire (now Kaunas, Lithuania) to a Jewish family, Goldman emigrated to the United States in 1885. Attracted to anarchism after the Chicago Haymarket affair, Goldman became a writer and a renowned lecturer on anarchist philosophy, women's rights, and social issues, attracting crowds of thousands. She and anarchist writer Alexander Berkman, her lover and lifelong friend, planned to assassinate industrialist and financier Henry Clay Frick as an act of propaganda of the deed. Frick survived the attempt on his life in 1892, and Berkman was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Goldman was imprisoned several times in the years that followed, for "inciting to riot" and illegally distributing information about birth control. Eric Bogosian is best known for writing and starring in the play and the film adaptation of that play, Talk Radio (NYSF – 1987). For this work he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and received the Berlin Film Festival “Silver Bear Award.” He is also well known for his six solo performances Off-Broadway (Men Inside, FunHouse, Drinking in America, Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll, Pounding Nails in the Floor With My Forehead, Wake Up and Smell The Coffee) between 1980 and 2000, for which he received three Obie awards. In addition to Talk Radio, Bogosian has written a number of full-length plays including suburbia (LCT), Griller (Goodman), Red Angel (Williamstown Theater Festival), Humpty Dumpty (McCarter). He is the author of two novels, Mall and Wasted Beauty and a novella, Notes from Underground. As an actor, Bogosian has appeared in numerous films and television programs, starring in Robert Altman’s The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, Atom Egoyan’s Ararat, Under Siege II and Wonderland. He currently stars in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” on NBC. A new production of Talk Radio starring Liev Schreiber and directed by Robert Falls, is currently on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre and marks Bogosian’s Broadway debut. Career Neumann was born in Berlin to a Jewish family.[1] He received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 1927 and then continued to study medicine at the University of Berlin, where he acquired his first degree in medicine in 1933. In 1934 Neumann and his wife Julia, who had been Zionists since they were teenagers, moved to Tel Aviv.[1] For many years, he regularly returned to Zürich, Switzerland to give lectures at the C. G. Jung Institute. He also lectured frequently in England, France and the Netherlands, and was a member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology and president of the Israel Association of Analytical Psychologists. He practiced analytical psychology in Tel Aviv from 1934 until his death from kidney cancer in 1960.[1] Contributions Neumann contributed to the field of developmental psychology and the psychology of consciousness and creativity. He had a theoretical and philosophical approach to analysis, contrasting with the more clinical concern in England and the United States. His most valuable contribution to psychology was the empirical concept of "centroversion", a synthesis of extra- and introversion. However, he is best known for his theory of feminine development, a theory formulated in numerous publications, most notably The Great Mother. His works also elucidate the way mythology throughout history reveals aspects of the development of consciousness that are parallel in both the individual and society as a whole.
