E. John Hornsby
E. John Hornsby, Jr. is a native of New Roads, Louisiana, and a lifetime resident of the Pelican State. He has lived a dream, loving his profession of mathematics education since the day he decided to become a teacher as a freshman at Louisiana State University in 1967. After graduating from L.S.U. and Southeastern Louisiana University, he spent 23 years teaching in Louisiana high schools and the University of New Orleans. In 1997 he decided to devote his efforts to full-time authoring of college and university textbooks. He is eternally grateful to Marge Lial, who gave him the opportunity to join her in her series of successful textbooks. His first book was published in 1990, and he has coauthored over 100 editions of textbooks ranging from beginning algebra through precalculus. His current publisher is Pearson Education. John's professional interests include the history of mathematics, incorporating graphing calculators into the precalculus curriculum, and sharing the beauty of mathematics through his series of talks, "Math Class Goes to Hollywood." These talks include scenes from movies and television that provide mathematics-education moments. Some are good, some are bad, and some are really ugly, but they all provide an opportunity to learn about mathematics. Source: About the Author

Elaine Cunningham
Elaine Cunningham is a history geek and former music teacher, an avid reader with a lifelong interest in mythology and folklore. This would explain why many of her characters are bards and the rest are elves. (An exaggeration, but only a slight one…) By day, Elaine is the executive director of the Providence Singers, a symphonic choir that performs with the Rhode Island Philharmonic and other ensembles.

Elisabeth Beresford
Elisabeth Beresford, also known as Liza Beresford, was an English author of children's books, best known for creating The Wombles. Born into a literary family, she took work as a journalist, but struggled for success until she created the Wombles in the late 1960s. Elizabeth Castro
I moved to Barcelona in 1987 to study bilingualism but found a job in a computer company instead. After managing the translation of many different computer programs (FreeHand, PageMaker, Illustrator, and more), I started a publishing company to translate and publish computer books in Spanish. In 1993, moved back to the US to write my own books. Started with Netscape, and then moved on to HTML, Perl, XML, Blogger, iPhoto, and most recently EPUB. You can find more personal info about me at my blog A Year in Barcelona (http://www.ayearinbarcelona.com). My regular blog is Pigs, Gourds, and Wikis (http://www.pigsgourdsandwikis.com). I spend a fair bit of time on Twitter (@lizcastro). And my full website is www.ElizabethCastro.com. (Source)

Elizabeth Kostova
Kostova's interest in the Dracula legend began with the stories her father told her about the vampire when she was a child. The family lived in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1972, while her father was teaching at a local university; during that year, the family traveled across Europe. According to Kostova, "It was the formative experience of my childhood." Kostova's interest in books and libraries began early as well. Her mother, a librarian, frequently took her and her sisters to the public library—they were each allowed to check out 30 books and had a special shelf for their library books. (Source.)
